Privacy Policy

Last updated 10 October 2026

This policy explains what personal information Sahyatri ("we", "us") collects when you use sahyatri.com or contact us, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It applies to the website, our WhatsApp and phone conversations and our e-mail.

What we collect

  • Enquiry and booking details you type into our forms or send us: name, mobile number, e-mail address, city, travel dates, number of travellers, budget, preferences and your message. For a confirmed booking we also need the names, ages and ID details that railways, airlines and hotels require.
  • Newsletter address if you subscribe.
  • Technical data recorded automatically: IP address, browser, pages visited and the referring site, used for security and to understand how the site is used.

How we use it

To reply to your enquiry, prepare an itinerary and quote, make and manage your booking, send you the vouchers and travel updates, process payments and refunds, and – only if you subscribed – send the newsletter. We also use it to keep the site secure and to improve it.

Who we share it with

Only with the suppliers who need it to deliver your trip: railways and airlines, hotels and homestays, transport operators and local guides. We share the minimum each of them needs. We do not sell your information or share it with marketers.

Cookies and third-party services

The site sets a session cookie for forms and the admin area. If analytics is enabled, Google Analytics sets cookies to count visits anonymously. If advertising is enabled, Google AdSense may set cookies to show relevant ads; Google's use of such data is described in its own privacy policy, and you can opt out of personalised advertising in your Google Ads Settings. Map embeds on the contact page load from Google Maps when you view that page. Videos come from YouTube (youtube-nocookie.com) and load only after you press play; YouTube's own privacy policy then applies.

Newsletter

You can unsubscribe at any time with the link at the bottom of every newsletter e-mail. We then stop sending and delete your address from the list.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become bookings are deleted or anonymised within two years. Booking records are kept for the period Indian tax and accounting law requires. Server logs are kept for a short period for security.

Your rights

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Write to the e-mail address on the contact page; we answer within a reasonable time.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, access to the admin area is password protected and limited to our staff, and payment details are never stored on this website.

Changes

We may update this policy as the site changes. The date at the top of the page shows the latest version.
